GST Calculator

Taxes

Split any price into its net value and GST — whether you need to add tax to a base price or extract it from an inclusive amount.

In short: The GST Calculator is a free online tool that lets you add or remove GST and split an amount into base price and tax — instantly, with charts, a worked example and the exact formula.

Base price

₹10,000

GST amount

₹1,800

at 18%

Total price

₹11,800

You put in ₹1,800 and it grows to ₹11,800 — about 6.6× your money, with ₹10,000 earned on top. The longer you stay invested, the larger that share of returns becomes.

Price composition

Base price versus GST.

How the GST Calculator works

Formula

GST = Amount × rate/100 • Base = Amount ÷ (1 + rate/100)
Amount
Value you enter
rate
GST slab (5/12/18/28%)
Base
Price excluding GST

Step-by-step calculation

Worked with the default values.

  1. 1

    Add GST

    ₹10,000 × 18/100

    = ₹1,800

  2. 2

    Total

    Base + GST

    = ₹11,800

How it works

  • For an exclusive amount, GST is added on top of the base price.
  • For an inclusive amount, the base is back-calculated by removing the embedded GST.
  • For intra-state supply, GST splits equally into CGST and SGST.

Examples

₹10,000 exclusive at 18%

₹1,800 GST → ₹11,800 total (₹900 CGST + ₹900 SGST).
