Commission = Sale amount × Commission rate ÷ 100; Total = Base salary + Commission
Sale amount
Total value of the sale closed
Commission rate
Percentage of the sale you earn
Base salary
Fixed pay for the period, if any

Step-by-step calculation

Worked with the default values.

  1. 1

    Commission earned

    ₹5,00,000 × 5%

    = ₹25,000

  2. 2

    Total earnings

    ₹0 + ₹25,000

    = ₹25,000

How it works

  • Your sale amount is multiplied by the commission rate to find the commission earned.
  • The commission is expressed as a percentage, so it is divided by 100 in the maths.
  • Any fixed base salary is added to the commission to give your total earnings.

Examples

₹5,00,000 sale at 5% commission, no base

You earn ₹25,000 in commission, which is also your total for that sale.

₹10,00,000 sale at 3% commission, ₹40,000 base salary

Commission of ₹30,000 plus base gives total earnings of ₹70,000.
