How the Net Income Calculator works

Formula

Net income = Gross income − Tax deductions − Other deductions
Gross income
Total annual income before any cuts
Tax deductions
Income tax and cess for the year
Other deductions
EPF, professional tax, insurance and similar

Step-by-step calculation

Worked with the default values.

  1. 1

    Total deductions

    ₹1,20,000 + ₹0

    = ₹1,20,000

  2. 2

    Net income

    ₹10,00,000 − ₹1,20,000

    = ₹8,80,000

How it works

  • Your gross income is the starting point — everything you earn before deductions.
  • Income tax and cess are subtracted first as your main statutory deduction.
  • Any other deductions such as EPF, professional tax or insurance are removed to leave your net income.
