How the Daily Interest Calculator works

Formula

Daily interest = P × r/100 ÷ 365 • Total = Daily interest × days
P
Principal amount
r
Annual interest rate (percent)
365
Days in a year (day-count basis)
days
Number of days interest accrues

Step-by-step calculation

Worked with the default values.

  1. 1

    Daily interest

    ₹1,00,000 × 10% ÷ 365

    = ₹27

  2. 2

    Total interest

    Daily interest × 30 days

    = ₹822

How it works

  • The annual rate is divided by 365 to get the interest earned or charged per day.
  • Multiplying the daily figure by the number of days gives the total interest for the period.
  • This uses simple interest — the daily amount does not itself earn further interest.

Examples

₹1,00,000 at 10% for 30 days

About ₹27.40 per day, roughly ₹822 total interest for the month.

₹50,000 at 18% for 45 days

About ₹24.66 per day, around ₹1,110 in interest for the period.
